TWO DAYS! Almost three...

lhuneFor days I've been without an internet connection on my laptop. I can very well stand the loss of it for a little time (like when I'm on a holiday or such) but I felt thoroughly stressed as I had no idea when or how I could get it back.
I first called on my father for help... Nothing much, just a complete restart of my airport device. It's too high up the wall, I can't reach it to see whether or not it's working properly. I should've realised it was working just fine since I still had the digital tv working. We used that cable to try and connect to the internet by cable.
Nothing.
... Or well, numerous possibilities to connect (none of which sounded familiar) Tried every username and password I could find but no avail D:
This morning I tried calling both the Apple store and my telephone provider for assistance.
The first I couldn't reach. The number was no longer in use, "please try this one" The other number told me they were not working at that moment, please check online for more information. That was just my problem, I HAD NO INTERNET!
The second, my internet/telephone line provider asked me tons of questions (which I couldn't answer) So no help there either.
My saviour wasinkweaver , I went over to her place for brunch and she suggested to have a look at it. She took her own laptop with her to check the connectivity (which was good) and looked up possible solutions on the internet. In the end it turned out to be as simple *cough* as to turn off the firewall. IT WORKED! Internet was back! I could turn the firewall on again and everything still remained working XD XD XD
Overjoyed I walked her back home (heh, that's sounds like some old novel ^____^)
Terror struck me when my laptop remained unresponsive when I was back at my apartment. A black screen was all I got DX It couldn't be true! Now that the internet was back, my laptop decided to crash and give up completely!?!? Maybe my battery had died? When I connected my laptop it only turned warmer and made a lot of noise.
So be it, there was nothing more I could do. It would be costing me money next.
I remembered I should have internet connection on my digital tv so I decided to send my cousin his birthday wishes on FB that way. OMG It took me quite some time to access my FB account, it was good for only this once :( But I managed.
Only last time (I always think that) I tried my laptop again and-
Someone, something must have had mercy with me,
I COULD'T BELIEVE MY EYES, IT STARTED AND INTERNET WAS WORKING!
I'm overjoyed and I've promised to treat my laptop better from now on.
