What if it was Erik that Charles found rummaging through the fridge that night and not Raven? Perhaps Erik escaped the camp using his abilities, or maybe his parents escaped Germany before the persecution began and started to work for Charles's parents? However it happens, the end result is they grow up like brothers and be all "us against the world" even with a touch of Atonement style class divide? Can you imagine them as kids sneaking around in some English garden and exploring, uh, things together (cough)? They might still have to deal with their philosophical differences, and maybe Erik resents Charles for having it all and resents himself for falling for Charles despite it all.

With Charles as a sort of Bond girl except without cross-dressing. Because Erik would totally be the deadliest, manliest gay Bond agent ever. Turtlenecks and leather jackets abound!

This secret organization manages to capture Charles and use him for severe experimentations and try to turn him into a weapon. Erik and the other mutants are eventually able to save Charles, but his mind is severely damaged because he discovered a horrible secret about the organization through his telepathy.

Of course, the organization is going to try and get Charles back, and Erik tries to protect Charles while restoring his sanity and exposing the organization to the world.

Asking only loyalty

Erik seemed to be conflicted about what to do with the missiles until Charles said "they're only following orders", and that triggered his anger. How would things have been different if Charles hadn't said that? Charles successfully talks Erik down and they all leave together. Bonus if Charles still gets injured somehow. Complete

Raven and Charles are stepsiblings, and their father won't allow Raven to date until Charles (who's too busy studying to) does.

So, she enlists the help of Hank, who's got a teeny crush on her, to help. Hank then cons Alex of his money to pay off Erik, the scary dude in school, in order for Erik to seduce Charles.

Only problem is, Erik starts to fall for Charles.WIP

I was so inspired by your rec post (of which I still have many to read, I've only come as far as about half of it) that I made haste. I know I've read many more but I cannot remember which ones they were *fails* another reason for me to hurry before I'd lose even more ^^;
